The Department holds scholarship days to celebrate scholarship projects by the second year residents at the end of the academic year. This year we are having local scholar days at individual sites in May and June. There is one Central Scholarship Day in Vancouver at which second year resident award winners will present their project to the Department, including academic faculty, clinical faculty/preceptors and others who are interested.
The events include opportunities to network with departmental faculty from across the province, and to engage with promising young researchers and family physicians emerging from the UBC Family Medicine Postgraduate Residency program.
The Lloyd Jones Collins Award is a $3,000 prize awarded annually to the top scholarly projects at the Central Scholarship Day. Up to 10 projects are chosen by the Lloyd Jones Collins Award Selection Committee every year. The winners will be invited to present their project at the departmental scholarship day in Vancouver on June 19, 2020.
